Well, its been a long, long time since my last update and well, a lot of things have happened. Unfortunately I forgot to screenshot a good 90% of it. heh. I'm going to try and remember to screenshot more things because they have been interesting.
I know a lot of other ninjas have several sets of gear, hell even I do. But I've been trying to find a balance between all the groups where I'd do decent damage, maintain descent hate, evade many attacks, and have some kick ass Blade: Jins. So far, my results haven't been the best but they haven't been that terrible either. Just need a few more things and I think it'll be pretty good. But we'll see.
Anyway, I've also decided that I really want full AF2 and a fully upgraded Relic Katana. Right now, I'm not sure how I'm going to do it I just know I want it. They'll probably take me a really really long time. Oh well...
Unsent is finally starting to get their act together and start camping kings. We've been claiming quite a few Behemoths lately. Finally, we were rewarded with a King! Overall, it went really well and only took us about 45 minutes to kill it. I guess thats what happens when everyone TPs for Spirits Within and about 4 or 5 Black mages come. heh.
Unfortunately it wasn't all a piece of cake. On Odin we have this LS by the name of CRX who has a big repulation for being jack asses. They steal and what not, especially on Kings. Well, for some odd reason they only had like 3 people there and they "accidentally" stole KB from us once we got it to about 2%. About 90% of us were MPKed by this act since we still had hate. But, we reclaimed and I had to end up kiting him while weakened and with 100 hp. Thank god it was night time. xD
Finally got myself an Unsho! Yay. Love the Unji + Unsho combination. ^^
Finally, the gilsellers on Odin. There are sooooo many of them.
Lots of things have happened since my last update. I'm almost ready to make Ninja my main job seeing as I got it to 73 yesterday. Hoping to be 74 by this weekend. I really only use Ranger for ENMs and Sky though that might change. One of our main Ninjas is switching servers to play with some real life friends and his brother. So we're going to need another Ninja to go to Sky. Lots of lag up there so I'm not sure how well I could tank but I guess there is only one way to find out. heh
Sky & Kirin
We've been taking on Kirin once or twice for the last two or three weeks and we're doing pretty good. We're only lost two total. First time we tried and once again because of a few mistakes and a few key people not being there (myself included >.<). Other then that, we've done fairly good. Shame our drops couldn't be as good either. I'm second in line for a Osode, no way in hell I can pass the guy in front of me but thats okay. Both he and I deserve one in my opinion. That doesn't mean I'm not going to make him spend as many points as I can. Sorry Thibs. ^^
Not much new to reports on our sky adventures. Everything is pretty normal. We go up and try to get as many pop items we can then kill as many gods we can come the end of the week. Though, we did get some pretty interesting Seiryu's drops last time...
Last night in sky was an interesting night. We saw L7 having a hard time twice. First time was at BB, they were having trouble stealing the knife and killing it. Thats kind of funny since I always thought they came prepared. Then second time I saw them get wiped at MG. Well, I didn't see them actually get wiped, but I did see the majority of them dead up there at MG and MG was still up. Poor guys, better luck next time.
Last thing about sky, something I found very funny. xD
I was bored the other night so I went to Mhaura to start the Avator quest there and I figured I'd ride the boat once before bed. So, I get on actually hoping the Horror would pop so I could blow it up and get a fast trip back to Jeuno. Well, it popped and I claimed it. All my bebuff stuck and I was doing pretty damn good. Once of the fishers gave me haste so that was nice of them. It didn't touch me once, until it two houred. Hundred's Fist nearly got me but I managed to dodge about 90% of it's attacks. It hit me enough to take my shadows down and just nearly killed me. Thankfully I managed to get my shadows back up and finish it off. It was a fun little fight.
Last week a group of us tried to do Ouryu. It's a 18 man, uncapped bcnm in one of the CoP areas. This was a very interesting battle. We had a good plan, unfortunately our information was a little off. There are a total of 7 mobs, Ouryu, 4 worms, and 2 elementals. We were told the worms don't respawn after their killed. So, we went in and kited Ouryu while we killed the 4 worms and slept the two elementals. Everything started off good until the worms started to respawn and the AoEs came. Stonega III hurts. But it was fun nonetheless. Next time we'll need a new stragety.
On Sunday night Unsent made our second attempt on the mighty Kirin! We had a few issues before we even started so it was unsure if we were even going to pop him. But, fortunately things worked out and everyone (well most) showed up for the event. Oh, by the way, it took me six tries to get into Kirin's room. -.-;
Anyway, it takes us so long to get ready for the fight, by this I mean doing our auction, going over the battle plan, and wait for the last few linkshell members to show up. I assume it takes most linkshells a little bit to do this but who knows. There was only one item that I wanted and I didn't even get to bid on it! Two people had more points then me and even before I could bid all of my, one of them bid all of theirs. So, heh, nothing for me this trip.
So, the fight started pretty well. We had three main kiters, a Ninja and two Rangers. Only one was supposed to be kiting Kirin at one time which they did a fairly good job doing. My main job was dispelling the summons, would of preferred to be a kiter, but eh I guess I can't complain. The summons need to be dispelled so thats a pretty important job. Besides, out of all the gods I've attended (which is quite a few) I've only missed once.
Order of spawns was Suzaku, Byakko, Genbu, Seiryu. I only missed on Seiryu. ;.; We took down each of these in record time. None of them gave us any problem, it was nearly perfect.
Kirin himself took a lot of time to take down and us Rangers were the primary damage dealers and tanks. It was kinda fun finally being able to use Sidewinder on a god other then Genbu and live to tell the tale. lol. Personally, I didn't take hate nearly as often as I should have. I was in charge of one of the parties so I had to sub in and out a few Black Mages, which I did nicely thank you very much. Next time though, I'm going to try and double the amount of damage I did.
Anyway, our drops were...
I wish I took more screenshots of the fight. I'll try to do that for the next time we fight him.
Yeah, pretty nice if you ask me. Evilstar got the Kirin Pole and Fatesfury got the Kirin Osode. There is only one person with more points then me and they want it too now so with luck I could get one within the next week or two. We're taking on Kirin again this week so if everything goes smoothly then we might take on Kirin every couple of days so I could get a Osode fairly soon. I hope so, its the last piece of Sky armor I really want. ^^
Okay, Auron if you check this for any reason, this next screenshot is just for you. ^^;
Seeing this just puts a big smile on my face... xD
Last night we had our weekly Sky hunt. We did one Genbu, three Byakkos, and two Seiryus. Drops were overall really good. I don't remember what Genbu dropped to be honest. Nothing I really want from him so I don't really pay attention to them unless a claw drops. But, some people got some things they wanted from him so thats good.
Byakko dropped some pretty nice things including two Haitates, one of which I now have. ^^. Mainly got it for my Ninja but I'm going to wear it with my Ranger. Can't let them collect dust in my safe, now can I? lol
All three fights went pretty smooth. First two fights no one died but on the third, I died. I was the only one and I'm not exactly sure how I took hate. I used Empyrail Arrow then followed that with Barrage then I was going to throw in a Sidewinder for the kill but 90% of my Barrage missed and I took hate from basically a regular shot. It was kinda weird and since I didn't have the TP to follow through with the Sidewinder, I died. Everyone got a good laugh out of it, including myself so it was no big deal.
Lately we've had bad luck with Seiryu's drops. But last night they were really good. We got two Seiryu's Kotes. One of which went to our main (well only) Ninja. The second went to one of our newer Rangers. I swear, Unsent has a fricking army of Rangers now. Its kinda good and kinda bad. Good as we can kick a lot of ass. Bad as well, its no fun being part of the majority. Heh. Anyway...
Kindred's Seal 30
One of my friends invited me to do KS30. They were a DD short and I was more then happy to go. I have so many KS its not funny. All I need is 4 more and I'll be able to do another one and still have 99 left over for Horns of War. Anyway, our party was WAR, WHM, BLM, BRD, RDM, and RNG. I know a lot of people do this with 5 or so BLMs but I don't think thats very fun.
But anyway, this was really easy. It took us nearly 10 minutes for each run, but we weren't going to for any records, which is 1 minute and 46 seconds. Damn BLMs. Oh well, 4 of the 5 runs were basically crap but we did manage to get one claw... With my orb! So yes, I now have a claw that I need to get crafted into a Harness. I'm going to try and get that done either tomorrow or Monday. Well, sometime soon since I really need/want one.
Well, the game is down for the next 7 hours so I thought I'd go ahead and post some pictures. There are quite a bit of them, so dial-up users, I'm sorry. Anyway, some are old and some are new, just a few that I like and thought I'd share since its been awhile.
I guess I'll start out with what happened last night. Unsent made their first attempt on Kirin. It was quite interesting as it was nearly everyone's first time taking him on and a few other's first time in Sky. Bottom line, we died. Actually, the correct way to put it would probably be we got owned. heh. So onto the details.
Even before things got started we ran into problems. So many people wanted to watch and "help us out." Frankly, I had no problem with the watching part but I didn't want any outside help. Because if we did happen to win then everyone would say "Yeah, Unsent only won because we helped them." I wanted to win on our own or die trying. Anyway, most of the LS didn't want them up incase they tried to steal it and Call for Help since Unsent isn't the most popular LS there is. I can't see people doing that, but we do have some pretty stupid people on Odin. Oh well, the majority of the LS didn't want them up here and we did ask them nicely to leave, which most of them did. However, there were a few that acted childish and refused to leave. Then they started talking all this pointless crap that was uncalled for. Last I heard, two of them got kicked from their LS for doing it. Serves them right I guess.
Onto the fight! We started out with a pld kiter and a nin to back him up but that quickly changed as the pld got hit and took quite a bit of damage. So the nin took over and started to kite Kirin around a bit. We had a crap load of people up here and our plan was to have the kiting party kite Kirin around while the rest of us took on the summons. Well, he didn't want to summon anything so one of the Ranger parties got to join in and deal a little damage to Kirin and try to get him to summon the other gods. It worked.
First came Suzaku which we took out with little problems. It was the only thing that went smooth. Next came Genbu and everything started to go good but before we could finish off Genbu, Kirin summoned Seiryu and we were pretty much screwed from this point on. We tried to continue on and even managed to kill off Genbu but by this time so many people were either dead, weakened, or nearly dead. And to make things worse, Kirin summoned Byakko. Everyone died shortly after and we had to let Kirin despawn.
All in all, it was a good learning experience and the next time we will be better prepared. We're going to spend more time getting people better god armor and give everyone who isn't 75 yet a chance to get there. But, next time I think we could be better off with a nin or two and a rng or two to start off kiting Kirin till the summons are dead. Oh well, we'll talk about it more over the coming weeks.
Anyway, I don't have any screenshots of the mass death. I tried to take some but I was lagging pretty bad and my screenshots didn't take for some ready. Its disappointing since I had a few nice ones with me dead. heh. Maybe next time.
Today was a very busy day. Had both Dynamis-Bastok and Sky. Dynamis started around 2:00. We were supposed to go in with only about 30 or 35 people but not everyone showed up so we went in with a little less. It could of turned out a whole lot worse, but all in all, not so bad. We got some AF to job; SMN, BLM, and SAM. We were going to attempt to win it but we only managed to make it about halfway through. Oh! I was the main puller and managed to do a fairly good job if I can say so myself. ^^
Onto Sky. Tonight we manage to kill each of the four gods once. We started out with Byakko since it was our first run against him. This was much harder then I thought it would be. I wasn't expecting it to be easy, but towards the end there I wasn't sure if we were going to win. Anyway, everything started out good, but our tanks started to fall. First was out main ninja, which we kicked from the party and bought in our backup ninja while our main one got raised and rested up. But, he didn't last that long either so our PLDs had to step up.
Two of the three didn't last that long either. For some reason, we had a hard time keeping them alive. heh. So, we kicked one of them and bought in our last tank; Tavis. He stepped in and did a very nice job. He lasted longer then the other tanks combined and bought some time for the other tanks to rest up and get back in there. Unfortunately, they all died again. heh. Then things went to all hell. All four RNGs died, most of the BLMs, and several other people. However, we did manage to pull off a win. No Haidates dropped unfortunately. We're already planning on two more Byakko runs next weekend for more practice and all. Maybe a new tanking strategy?
Anyway, we then went off and did Seiryu, Genbu, and Suzaku. None of which provide any kind of real threat and we owned each. Drops were horrible on Seiryu, which upset the RNGs, myself included. We've yet to see anything really valuable drop that we can use. Though, we are planning on more Seiryu's runs next weekend so HOPEFULLY we'll get lucky then.
I'm to tired and in no mood to post any screenshots right now. Plus, I really didn't take that many. Maybe I'll edit this tomorrow and add in a few. Maybe. ^^
Anyway... We can take on Kirin now! heh
Oh well, in other news, I finally manged to finish all three Promyvion missions and can move onto Chapter Two. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be able to do that since the people I did them with hasn't really shown any interest in doing them. So, I might have to find some random party to do them with. Someone help me? x.x
To everyone and every Linkshell that said we couldn't take Seiryu can kiss my ass. We did one run on Seiryu last night and we owned him. Only one person died, our Ninja tank but our PLDs stepped in and did a wonderful job with keeping hate. Other then the nin death, we had no problems and it only took us about 10 minutes to kill him.
The other RNG and the NIN both had more points then me and they used them for the Seiryu Kote. I had 44 points and used 6 of them on the Crismon Gloves thingie. So when we got up to 38 I had to stop. Bidding went up to 41 points and luckily the other RNG won. Unfortunately we didn't get the Kotes to drop. It was a four way tie on the Crimson Gloves thingie between the other RNG, NIN, a PLD, and myself. And guess who won!? The PLD. -.-; This kinda pissed me off since it does very little for a PLD but he used his points on it so there is nothing I can do about it. Hopefully I can get lucky next time.
Anyway, after that we went and did two runs on Suzaku and one run on Genbu. All of which we did with little problems. By the time we got to Genbu a few people had to go and I ended up being the only RNG. That was fun everyone hitting for 0's and me hitting for 50-70. The fight took a little longer then usually but with no problems.
Hopefully next time we'll be able to do a few more Seiryu runs and maybe a Byokko or two as well. Then we'll be able to take on Kirin. Anyway, onto the screenshots.
I love Ranger parties, they can do so good! unfortunately the one I got wasn't the greatest. We kept on getting hit by to many AoE attacks and we couldn't get about chain 9. I'm really not to sure what our problem was. Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of one of the Rangers we had. He wanted to take charge telling everyone what to do. I just wanted him to shut the hell up. I really think he was our problem. heh.
That party only lasted an hour because that one Ranger had to go to a LS event. Who the hell only parties for an hour at level 74 and 75? Thats completely stupid, especially with a Ranger party. We could of gotten around 20k in three hours. But no, we got 6k in one hour. Next person I party with for only an hour I'm going to slap.
So, after that party I got into another one and that one only lasted a little over an hour... But 3 people stayed since we had the best camp in sky. Three replacement and our BLM had to escape me each time because they didn't know how to get up here. What happened next? Our server goes down and nearly everyone gets disconnected.
It took me nearly ten minutes to get back on and I was the last to return. After that we had no problems. Got up to camp and ruled some statue ass. The party stayed together for a couple of hours. Got about 4 or 5k an hour (I don't really remember ^^) but more importantly, I got Level 75! xD
So anyway, last night we did one of our weekly sky runs and it was a horrible night. Not because we all ended up dying here and there (which kinda did happen) but because there were so many other Linkshells up there. It was hard trying to find something to do that another LS wasn't. So, we decided to farm water. When we got there Envy was the only LS doing it so we went up to the next level to farm water. But we had to wait nearly an hour before everyone got up there. That was boring. In the mean time, Envy came up to our level and started to farm there, but they went to the other side so it was all cool.
So we wait and when we finally got started BBQ came up and tried to take our camp. I thought this (and a lot of others in my LS) was very rude on their part. They were pulling two at a time, kiting one and killing the other and making us lag horribly. Thankfully no one got disconnected or died. We asked them nicely to move and their leader said to stay on our side of the room. It kinda pissed me off. I mean, we show everyone respect when we're up there and they couldn't show us any? So, since I was the main puller, I was pulling everything I could. But, my favorite part was when nearly all of BBQ was gathered around this pot and I ran right in and Shadowbind it. I don't know if they were planning on pulling it or not, but they were all right there looking at it. So I took it and felt pretty good too! They left right after that. ^^
Anyway, took us nearly 3 hours but we finally got some water before we moved over to Faust. He was really easy and gave us no trouble at all. No one was in any danger of dying, hate was handled very well, and I nearly went all out on him! That was pretty fun. After that, we lost about half our people since it was late and the rest of us decided to head down and try to pop Steam Cleaner. It was probably a mistake trying to do that since nearly everyone died.. Twice. It seemed like at this time that some people just weren't thinking or just weren't all there since things were missed. It was handled very poorly. But, we did manage to pop SC though we couldn't kill it.
Anyway, we're heading back tonight to take on a few gods and Seiryu is our prime target! Its going to be mainly experimental since this will be nearly everyone's first time with him (mine included). I have high hopes since I have the second highest points with the LS and the Ranger with the highest might not be there tonight which means I might get a pair of Seiryu's Kote. I'm really hoping I get them since they're the main piece of god armer I really want.
Its been awhile since I've played the game, been out job hunting and all that good stuff. Yes, it was quite boring heh. So, anyway, I have been getting back on the game and been leveling and going to sky, pretty much trying to catch up with the rest of my LS. Most of which are 74 or 75 and have a lot of Sky hours now. Good news, I'll be 74 tomorrow since I'm only 4.2k tnl. 75 will come later this week sometime, if I don't run out of money. Only have a little over 300k remaining. However, I have been stocking up on Kabura Arrows for the last few days. I have about 12 or 13 stacks plus some Demon Arrows and Silver Bullets. I think I'll be able to make it to 75 before my funding runs out. heh.
Anyway, onto Sky! Tonight we were planning on doing Seiryu, Genbu, and Suzaku x2. Unfortunately another linkshell beat us to Mother Globe so we were unable to get the last Seiryu item we needed to take him on. So we went ahead with our plans for Genbu and Suzaku. We had so many people show up for it. I think we had a total of 22 or 23, so we had some extras who all served as subs in case someone died, which a few did here and there.
First was Genbu, he was pretty easy over all. I don't really have much to say about him expect for the fact that I was hitting harder then the other two rangers there, and they're both level 75. I *THINK* we were all using a Hellfire and Silver Bullets (I forgot to check them >.<) and we all have a lot of the same equipment so I'm not exactly sure how this was happening, but I'm not complaining at all!
Onto Suzaku. This was my first time taking him on and I have to say, he was pretty fun. Reminds me a lot of Simurgh, just not as hard to hit heh. We had a few deaths on both our runs, so I think everyone got a chance to jump in and take up one of the open spaces. Its nice everyone got a chance to play. Unfortunately though, I was one of the ones to die during the first Suzaku fight. Was unable to get out of range of Chainspell + Flare in time. Shadows went down then he hit me with Flare before I could get them back up. Took 1100 points of damage. x.x
Anyway, I took screenshots of the fights (except for after I died. Didn't feel like posting a few shots of my dead body heh) and of our drops we got. I have to say, they were much better then the last time.
Okay, afterwords we went around and did a little farming. We didn't do much but it took a little longer then it should of since we had a few first or second timers that didn't know their way around yet and got lost. But oh well, we got Mother Globe and Fuast. Fuast was actually kinda funny. Right after I pulled him and got him back to the teleporter room where we fought, he used his spinning move (whats-it-called?) and one of our BLMs took 1100 points of damage.. His first time up there (I think). It was really funny. hehe.
Anyway! Seiryu run is planned for this coming weekend and I should be 75 for it! So if I get Seiryu's Kotes, I won't have to wait to wear them. But, I don't know if I'm going to get them, the other two rangers that were there tonight have a lot more Sky hours then me. They have more points to bid. x.x
Yes, Genbu was yesterday.. But something happened today...
Okay okay, now that is out of the way, onto Sky. This was Unsent's first attempt at one of the gods and I've heard by so many people that Genbu is the easiest, and well, he was pretty easy. I was disappointment in the ammount of damage we were doing, but he's a turtle and a PLD nonetheless. So he had some huge D. Though, everyone was doing very little damage, so I guess I can't feel that bad.
I did manage to keep up with the other RNGs that were there and they're 4 to 5 levels higher then me. So that made me feel better as well. Our range attacks averaged around 50 to 70 points of damage. But oh well, we killed him three times with no deaths at all. It was a very successful run!
Drops. They weren't that bad, but they could of been better. We didn't get any drops that could be sold. I happened to get the item needed for the Crimson Greaves, not a very useful item for a RNG, but ehh, I kinda want the full Crimson set. Might end up getting it one day, but who knows. Anyway, here are some screenshots. ^^
After much preparing and searching for Hktk. Eyes in people's bazars in Upper Jeuno then hunting down something to make my Cluster, I finally got to go on an Optical Hat run. Getting there was fairly easy, no one got aggroed at all. Usually with a group of 16 people or more someone's sneak or invisible would wear off at a bad time and something would aggro them, but not this time!
Six people needed hats and we were only going to do four runs tonight, so before the first run the six people all /randomed. I was kinda worried when the first two peopled rolled higher then me. Then the person who rolled after me also got higher, put me at the end of the list. Thankfully, the two remaining people rolled less. They were both good friends of my and I kinda felt sorry for them. But, eeh, we're going back either tomorrow night or Friday night so they'll get theirs too.
All and all, the fights went smoothly. We had three stunners and they all did a good job stopping the -ga spells. We didn't take a single hit from one of them. However, both the ninja tanks ended up dying once (thankfully not at the same time) to being paralayzed and unable to cast Utsusemi. One of them was pretty upset the other didn't really care that he died, just happy he didn't delevel.
Orz... And I just now realized that I forgot to turn on Fraps this morning when I first turned on my computer so I have no screenshots of the fight or me in my new hat. I'll have to take some tomorrow then. ;.;
Orz.. I was all ready to get off last night at a decent hour and go to bed early but right before I wanted to log off, a old friend sent me a tell and asked for my help in Beaudeaux. She needed a coffer key. So, she gathered up another friend and the 3 of us set off to Beaudeaux. The coffer mobs were surprisingly easier then I was expecting, which was good! However, after an hour and a half of trying we were all to tired to continue on. We're just going to have to go back another time.
Anyway, yesterday I tried to camp two HNMs; Serket and Simurgh. It was quite boring at Serket considering I was the only one at Unsent there. I wish I could of soloed it, but since I couldn't I just had to settle for watching. Thankfully, one of my good friends were there and they got it. They also got the ring to drop, which I do believe, they all gave to her. So I'm happy with that. ^^
Before it was Simurgh's time, my friend (the same one from Serket) asked me to help her out with Cactrot Rapido. Never got a chance to hunt him before so I agreed! She gathered up about 14 people or so and we all went out to the Eastern Altepa Desert. He was already up, and from what I heard, he'd been up since the day before.
The only way to pull this guy would be to link him, but I still had to try Shadowbind, just to see for myself. So, during one of his passes by our camp, I actually got Shadowbind off and... I missed!
I wasn't expecting to miss. I was expecting for Cactrot Rapido to be out of range, or something like that. But not miss, that just sucked. lol Anyway, we eventually got him to link and the fight was pretty interesting, I just have one thing to say... 10,000 Needles hurts!
So, afterwards while waiting for Simurgh's time I went to try my hand at the Phantom Worm in Kuftal Tunnel. I've done some research on him and I figured I could take him. I bought two Darksteel Ores and set off. I can't believe I forgot Echo Drops. So, I get there and there is no one else there, perfect! I practiced on one of the Kuftal Diggers there and everything went pretty good, except for the Stonega III hit I took. It hurt but it wasn't that bad.
So, I spawned the worm and everything is going fairly good. My shadows are taking all the times and by the time they're down, the timer is done so I can recast them. I built up 300% TP and moved in for a Slug shot and it silenced me... I had to move away and wait for it to wear off, which took about 5 minutes at which time the worm was fully healed.
So, attempt two. It started off just like the first one. Everything was going good, until it started to cast Stonega III I tried to get out of range, but it was to late... This is what happened. >.<
Thankfully, my good friend Kaat was able to come and raise me! Thank you Kaat! ^^
So now its getting close to Simurgh's time so I started off for his camp. We had 13 people there, usually its just 12 but we accidently accepted one to many. However, it worked out well. Just as I got there, Bluebear sent me a tell telling me he was free to craft my Hktk. Eye Cluster. I'd been having problems getting together with this guy, so I had to accept. Luckly I did since my Linkshell is planning a Optical Hat run tonight. I hope I get one!
Well, thats about it for now. Tomorrow there is maintance at noon, finally. I've been waiting for maintance for nearly a month. Now I can head off to Fei'Yin and camp the Eastern Shadow and try to get a Eurytos' Bow. 6 million on Odin right now, that'll get me everything I need to 75 and more. ^^
Thank you Nooch for informing me of a wonderful little tool called Fraps. I've been using it to make some very nice screenshots exactly how I want them. I went out and tested it in Rolanberry Fields to make sure it worked, and it did. Now, if I can upload the images to this hosting site I found then show them here, everything will be great.
Simurgh Fight! Thats really the only thing we had planned to do tonight while I was on, so I decided to go. I've been attempting to fix the accuracy problem I have on him lately and I wanted to see how well I did. This was the first time I tried Sole Sushi on him. I must say, it helps but I still miss a lot. If only we had a Bard with us, Hunter's Prelude and/or Archer's Prelude would of been perfect.
Oh well, here are a few screenshots of the fight. One is of the chat log of me claiming him. Shadowbind is such a wonderful tool. The second one is just of us fighting him and me scoring a critical hit, and the last one is Sim's death along with our pathetic drops.
If only we had a Thief with us, I'm sure the boots would of dropped. It was a 100% full moon. I was kinda hoping we would get them considering the fact that I'm down to 175k at the moment. I feel so poor. Blah. Oh well, I got a new title! One I've had before and don't quite like. Makes me sound bad. lol
Welcome to Dyson's LiveJournal! Basically this will just be a simple place where I can share all of my Final Fantasy XI experiences with whoever chooses to read them. I doubt I'll be posting much for the next few days as I'm still trying to find out how to take some good screenshots. I would like to take some that shows the chat log so I can show everyone how much damage my sidewinder does or what drops we happen to get off of some monster. I know there is a way, because I've seen screenshots like that. I just need to find it!
Anyway, I just want to take a moment to welcome you to this LiveJournal. Please feel free to stop by whenever you wish and reply to any post you want. I wouldn't mind the company. ~.^
So, allow me to begin.
Two days ago a small group of Unsenters went out to hunt Serket. By small group, I mean small. Only three of us; MNK74/NIN37, WHM75/BLM37, and myself RNG70/NIN35. This was exactly what I've been wanting for a very long time. I've seen much better equipped parties fall to Serket.
However, I was camping the middle but standing back towards the Weapons. Closer to the SE corner of the room. Since we couldn't cover the entire spawning area with the three of us, I decided to check wide scan here and there just to see if he'd spawned somewhere outside our range of vision. Well, sure enough he did and I had to actually run to get to him. To my surprise, he was unclaimed.
I quickly Shadowbind him and told the others that he popped and I got him. They quickly came to him and the Monk engaged. Since he was also our tank, I gave him a few moments to gain hate before engaging myself. We quickly moved the mob toward the middle of the room. The weapons were inching closer and closer and we didn't want to risk a link, so we placed that part safe.
This was one of the best fights I've had the pleasure of being apart of. He was pretty easy to take down, just took us about 20 minutes or so. Shame we didn't get any good drops. Oh well, I didn't really care much for the drops anyway. Afterwards, people told us that we did an impressive job. Boost to my ego right there. I'll probably be awhile before I get another chance like this... And I can't wait for it. xD
